Since the Roman Empire's aquaducts, water distribution has enabled social advances.  Today, water distribution systems are such a vital component of our world, essential to development and progress...essential to life.

Such a important aspect of our nation's infrastructure should be built with INTEGRITY, enhancing the intrinsic value of the commodity itself.

Featured Project: South Boulder Diversion Conduit Siphon No. 5 Replacement

The original Boulder Siphon was installed before World War II, and while it had served it's purpose well, it was in need of replacement.

Construction constraints, such as extremely limited 60' easement through Boulder County Open Space, made installing the new 84" pipeline next to the existing above-ground pipeline (which needed to stay in service) difficult.  Dirt and material management, in such a tight work area, became the paramount obstacle to overcome. In some areas, the slope was as much as 0.50, which presented installation and safety challenges, as well.

Thorough planning of excavations and careful orchestration of spoils haul-off was a key element of the success of this project.  As in all BTC projects, personnel conducted thoughtful preconstruction planning and daily JHA meetings to address construction and safety risks.
